This tall perrenial has salvia-like tubular flowers  that are maroon and carried in spikes above the mass of foliage over a long flowering period. A relative of the salvias, this has oval to deltoid leaves which are somewhat puckered and hairy and highly scented. Drought tolarant and attacts bees and butterflys. Excellent for the back of a border to give height. Chile.
