Perovskia 'Blue Spire', or Russian sage, is a hardy, drought tolerant plant in the salvia family with aromatic grey leaves on silver stems. Small, violet-blue flowers appear in summer to provide colour at the back of a border in well-drained soil. Perfect in a mediterranean or cottage garden scheme. It was also the recipient of the Royal Horticultural Society 'Award for Garden Merit'.
