One of the more hardy sages, this has oval leaves which are light green above and often almost purplish beneath.  The tightly whorled flower spikes are made of puffy flowers of a very pleasant pink.  There is usually a terminal bud on top of the spike which, for some reason unknown, fails to open. They look great amoungst other Blue Sages.  Sun or part shade and garden soil. Mexico.
